What is an Evergreen Club?

Evergreen clubs are local, self-governing clubs that

  • offer regularly scheduled adventures and social activities with a focus on older adults, including those living with early-stage Alzheimer's

  • welcome people of all ages who want to build an inclusive, supportive community

  • use a shared responsibility model where all members take responsibility for the health of their club

Each Evergreen Club operates independently and chooses its own activities and location. All Evergreen Clubs adhere to a shared set of principles and values.

Who Can Join?

Anyone. Evergreen Clubs are made up of seniors and caregivers or volunteers. All members (seniors, caregivers and volunteers) help plan and run activities for their club.

What happens at an Evergreen Club?

Evergreen Clubs are free to decide what activities they engage in. Typical activities might include two of the following: a hike, cooking or going out to eat, going to a concert, volunteering, gardening or a museum visit. Evergreen Clubs may decide that some meetups are activities that require more or less facilitation from a caregiver or volunteer (an “Adventure Guide”).

How Much are Clubs?

Evergreen Clubs are free. Activities are organized by members, caregivers, and volunteers, and any costs for outings (transportation, tickets, meals) are agreed upon by each club.
